Procedure for Processing Pharmacy Bills

For speedy and rapid processing of pharmacy bills, effective October 26, 2000, the Federal Employees' Compensation Program began a new service as part of their continuing effort to pay pharmacy bills as promptly and accurately as possible. This is now done with the introduction of "Real-Time Pharmacy". This "Real-Time Pharmacy" service will allow pharmacies, through a clearinghouse intermediary, to enter pharmacy bill information at the time of sale and receive rapid online response from OWCP about payability. This is a very good news for injured workers, who will avoid out of pocket expenses for their prescriptions. As along this is also good news for pharmacy providers, as "Real-Time" Pharmacy provides both immediate assurance that a charge is payable and a more rapid payment of that charge than traditional paper billing. 23945 Calabasas Rd.
